Join us for an art activity that encourages self-reflection and mental well-being in a judgment-free space. Call 316-261-8500 or visit wichitalibrary.org/events to register.
Art can be a powerful tool for self-expression and self-discovery. When we create art as a tool for self-care, we have the opportunity to explore our thoughts, feelings, and experiences in a safe and non-judgmental space. This month we will create masks as a way to explore the different identities we project onto the world as well as those identities that we keep hidden. Using paper masks and craft materials such as magazine clippings, markers, yarn, glue, etc., you will decorate a mask that represents an aspect (or aspects) of yourself that you’d like to explore or contemplate. No art skill or experience is required and supplies to complete the mask will be provided.
