For this quarter’s selection, we will be reading Crying in H Mart by Michelle Zauner. This 2021 memoir is an expansion of an essay of the same name written by Zauner published in The New Yorker in 2018. The book tells the story of Zauner’s complicated relationship with her Korean mother, Chongmi, who died from cancer when Zauner was 25. Exploring how Korean Food and cooking helped her process the grief over her mother's death, Zauner's memoir is an unforgettable story about family, loss, culture and connection. While supplies last, books will be available for check out at the Advanced Learning Library starting April 14, 2025. For more information on how to check out a reserved copy, call 316-261-8500.
