Local author Jillian Forsberg will share insights about her debut novel and her writing process.
Based on the true story of a Dutch sea captain who traveled across 18th-century Europe with an Indian rhinoceros named Clara, "The Rhino Keeper" captures both the thrill of archival discovery and the awe of a world encountering a living rhinoceros for the first time. In this talk, Forsberg will share insights about her book, her writing process, and the journey that led her to tell the story of Clara the rhinoceros.
Kansas author Jillian holds a master’s degree in public history from Wichita State University and a bachelor’s degree in communication and history from McPherson College. Her fascination with little-known historical events led her to uncover the remarkable true story that inspired her debut novel.
