It seems that producing music is increasingly something we leave to the professionals, to the YouTube stars, and to the people who pick songs for TV commercials. Seth and Adam believe that is unfortunate and un-American. Hear them talk (a little) and sing (quite a bit) about how singalongs have been used to build and reinforce community. Lyrics and other singing helps will be provided. And if you're one of those people who believes you can't sing, please sit on the front row. Yours may be the voices our communities need most. Adam Barlow-Thompson is a banjo player, co-host of the Fork'N'Folk musical community, and executive director of The Neighboring Movement. Seth Bate plays ukulele, works at the Wichita State University Community Engagement Institute, and put together the book Winfield's Walnut Valley Festival.
The Advanced Learning Library is Wichita's main public library, located in the downtown core at the crossroads of the Historic Delano District and the Museums on the River corridor.
