Barking Water (2009, 88 minutes, Not Rated)
Set against the rugged, sun-drenched landscapes of rural Oklahoma, Barking Water tells the story of Frankie, a proud Native man facing the end of his life. With the help of his strong-willed ex-partner Irene (played masterfully by Casey Camp-Horinek), he embarks on a final road trip to make peace with his estranged daughter and reconnect with the people and places that shaped him.
Minimalist and emotionally resonant, the film is a tribute to love, legacy, and the unspoken language between people who’ve seen each other at their worst—and still show up.
