In this program, you will learn how to install a zipper with a sewing machine by sewing a small zippered pouch. Space is limited and registration is required.
If you're intimidated by installing a zipper, join us for this 2-hour workshop to help build this foundational skill so you can sew with confidence! In this program, you will learn about different materials and lengths of zippers and how to choose the right one for your sewing project, regular vs. invisible zippers, different ways to install a zipper, types of zipper (presser) feet for sewing machines and common problems you may encounter and how to fix them. We will then practice installing a zipper by sewing a small zippered pouch that you can use to store money, makeup, art supplies, etc.
This program is intended for those who have used a sewing machine before, and all materials for the class will be provided. Participants can use one of the library's machines or bring a sewing machine from home if they prefer (be sure to bring the machine's manual with at least 1 sewing bobbin to fit your machine). Space is limited and registration is required so be sure to sign up early!
