"Pearls of Peace" with Lynn Salvo
A Biking for Peace Film Screening and Discussion
Monday, June 15
6:00pm - 7:45pm
Advanced Learning Library
Conference Room BCJoin long-distance cyclist Lynn Salvo and Bike Walk Wichita for a screening and discussion of "Pearls of Peace," a film she made about her experience biking a 4,330 mile route from Norway to Spain.
Between 2015 and 2021, Lynn Salvo cycled a peace-sign-shaped route across North America, with its center-point the home of a fellow cyclist here in Wichita! In 2024, she cycled from Norway to Spain, setting a Guinness World Record for being the oldest woman to do so, with another Wichitan cycling the majority of the route with her. In planning that epic 4,330 mile journey, Lynn selected sites related to peace in each country she biked through, in honor of her brother, an Air Force pilot killed in the Vietnam War. She recently completed a film about her experience, "Pearls of Peace." Join Lynn and Bike Walk Wichita for a screening of her film, followed by discussion and Q&A. Registration is encouraged, but not required.
