Art can be a powerful tool for self-expression and self-discovery. When we create art as a tool for self-care, we have the opportunity to explore our thoughts, feelings, and experiences in a safe and non-judgmental space. This month we will be creating Neurographic art. In 2014, Russian psychologist and author Pavel Piskarev coined the term neurography or neurographica, and invented a type of therapeutic art called “Neurographic Art”. Neurographic art has now become one of the most popular forms of art in the world, in both therapeutic and educational settings. It is loved by both children and adults alike, because of its relaxing and simple steps. Basic supplies like pen, paper and colored pencils/markers will be provided, but participants are welcome to bring additional drawing supplies if they prefer. No drawing skills or experience is required.
