About the Third Place On 2nd Street series
A "third place" is a vital social space where people can gather and connect outside of home and work. These spaces serve as community hubs, fostering casual interactions, building relationships, exchanging ideas, and creating a sense of belonging.
The Wichita Public Library invites you to make the library your third place with The Third Place on Second Street, an engaging program series designed to bring people together. Each event features a unique theme and activity, offering opportunities to relax, have fun, and connect with others in the community. From board games and movies to live music and more, there’s something for everyone.
Each TPOSS event also includes a curated selection of library materials related to the event’s theme, which you can check out and enjoy at home.

Advanced Learning Library
The Advanced Learning Library, located centrally in the historic Delano neighborhood, has many specialty services and collections including the Maker Space and AV Studio, local history and genealogy collections, and the Friends of the Wichita Public Library used bookstore.
